Requires a plumber and some digging.
We have a grant from our military partners to install tables and benches in the cafeteria quad, in front of the cafeteria.... Students could work with the contractor to design how this area would look (placement of tables, plants, trashcans, etc). The contractor will install all of the tables and benches.
Needs paint, cleaning, scaping gum, etc.
Students could develop projects of their own or come to the campus and select from projects already planned. The school can help with funding for any of these projects.
Get groups to commit to adopting bathrooms on campus.
Programs like AVID and Upward Bound bring more students into the GT program but not all of these students can afford the books, such as the Norton Reader. One project coud be to ask the students to donate any books they had to purchase when they are finished with them at the end of the year. Find a place to store these books permanently (library, kahuku.org, teacher's classroom, I'm sure Mrs. Vendiola would help promote this program from year to year). Kahuku.org is another resource, so they can be used the following year. Maybe sold at a very nominal price as a fundraiser for whoever is storing the books.
